Gemma Lienas. Depending on how you look at it, mine can be one or several lives. I was born in Barcelona in 1951. After finishing secondary school, I studied Humanities at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, after which I spent ten years teaching language and literature. Then, in a second life, I worked in publishing. Finally, in my third life, I'm a full-time writer. I feel very comfortable writing for children, for young people and also for adults, whether it's fiction or non-fiction. In the sentimental domain, too, I've had several lives and loves. Hence, my son, David, and my daughter, Lara, are not the offspring of my partner Enric, who has been the central person in my life since 1983. I've lived in Barcelona, Madrid and Strasbourg and have travelled the world. All these lives have born fruit in the form of three grandsons, three granddaughters and more than seventy published books.

She is a member of the Association of Catalan Language Writers.
