Rosa Font Massot (Sant Pere Pescador, 1957), a poet and novelist, has a degree in Catalan Philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and, for many years, has taught Catalan Language and Literature at a high school in Girona, where she currently resides.

Her work is closely linked with the land and countryside of the Alt Empordà and, in particular the River Fluvià and its estuary. She took part in the Movement in Defence of the Empordà Marshland, which aimed at saving this area and its ecological and scenic abundance.

As a poet, she has published the collections Tres notes i el silenci (1989), Quadern d’Erinna de Telos (1989), Com ombres vives (1996), Aigua llunyana (2001, winner of the Vila de Martorell Prize), La llum primera (2005, Elche Poetry Festival winner), Des de l’arrel (2009, Cadaqués Rosa Leveroni Prize), Un lloc a l’ombra (2011, Carles Riba Prize), Em dic la veu (2017), Celobert (2019, Senyoriu d’Ausiàs March Prize), Esquerda (2022) and Temps el·líptic (2022, Josep M. Llompart Prize). She has also published the novels Envia’ns un àngel (1999), L’ànima del freixe (2003) and La dona sense ulls (2014, Llorenç Villalonga Prize), which was published in Spanish as La mujer sin mirada (2014).

She has produced studies of the work of Víctor Catalpa and Renaissance poets of the Empordà, as well as anthologies for young people of Josep Carner’s poetry, Antologia (1995) and that of Josep M. de Sagarra, Antologia poètica (1994).

Her work has been included in the anthology Mig segle de Poesia Catalana. Del maig del 68 al 2018 (2018), and some of her poems, translated into Italian, have been published in Parlano le donne (2008) and, into English, in Xeixa: Fourteen Catalan Poets (2018).

She is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
