Miquel Martín i Serra (Begur, Baix Empordà, 1969) has a degree in Philosophy and is a writer. He writes as a columnist for several media publications, organises reading clubs, and gives writers’ workshops.

He has published the short story collection Hi ha amors que maten (1996) and the novels L'estratègia de la gallina (2001), which was a finalist for the Ramon Llull Prize, Cabells de Medusa (2007), Dictadors de butxaca (2008), winner of the Maspons i Safont Prize, and El riu encès (2017).

In the domain of popular culture he has published Llegendes de mar de la Costa Brava (2012) and, together with other writers, Converses amb en Xico Florian (2009), Els pobles perduts (2011), and Els pobles oblidats (2014).

A selection of his literary articles has been collected in Proses reposades (2017), which has a Prologue by Toni Sala. Moreover, as a literary scholar and populariser, he has published studies and articles on Vinyoli, Pla, Bertrana, and Gaziel, these including the titles Estudi introductori de Vent d’aram (2015) and Les influències filosòfiques en la poesia de Joan Vinyoli (2016), among others.

Miquel Martín is a member of Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
