Ricard Ripoll (Sueca, 1959) teaches Literature at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is director of GRES (Research Group on Subversive Writers), organises international symposiums (on fragmentary literature in 2001, on the strategies of the illegible in 2003 and on Lautréamont for 2006). He has written a number of articles on Lautréamont, Nerval, Nathalie Sarraute, San-Antonio, Martí i Pol ... His work is concerned with a new textuality that has arisen from modern experiences of auto-fiction. He has published the poetic auto-fictions Els encontres fortuïts (Fortuitous Encounters, Vienna, 2001) and La memòria dels mots (The Memory of Words, 3i4, 2003) and the novel L'espai dels impossibles (The Space of Impossibles, March Editor, 2005), which has been published in the Palimpsest Collection along with the complete works of Isidore Ducasse, Count of Lautréamont (The Songs of Maldoror, the Poetry and Letters).
He is a member of AELC (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
