Anna Vila

Anna Vila (Igualada, Anoia, 1949), nurse and writer. She wrote novels, children's and teenager's literature and pedagogical essays. Her first book, Els fills diferents (1991) is based on her experience as a mother of a mentally handicapped daughter with cerebral palsy. Two years later she published the novel Vacances al Zurich, which was awarded the Pere Quart d'Humor i Sàtira. Her production continued with a combination of novels and children's and teenager's literature. One could emphasize Qui fa ballar la geganta (1997), Naufragis quotidians (1999), written together with A. Dalmau, A mi no em veu ningú (2002), ilustrated by M. Cáceres and awarded with the Apel·les Mestres, and L'Albert i els coloms missatgers (2003).

Her work has been translated into Spanish and she is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
