Xavier Gual (Barcelona, 1973) has a degree in Catalan Philology from the University of Barcelona. He lives and works between the Vallès and Maresme areas of Catalonia and writes for the media, including the cultural supplement of the newspaper Avui. He has published the novels: Els tripulants (The Crew – El Mèdol, 2001), which received the 2000 Ribera d’Ebre Prize for Narrative, and Delirium tremens (Proa, 2001), which was awarded the 2000 Mercè Rodoreda Prize, , Ketchup (2006), Estem en contra (2007), which was awarded the Pere Quart d'humor i sàtira, El mediador (2013) and Els fantasmes de Dalí (2013).

He is a member of AELC (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
