Vicent Andrés Estellés (Burjassot, l’Horta, 1924 – València, 1993). Poet and journalist. He is considered a principal figure in the revival of contemporary Valencian poetry and the greatest poet to come out of the Valencian Lands from the Fifteenth Century until modern times – that is, since the golden epoch of Ausiàs March and Roís de Corella. Among his books of poetry what stands out is the second volume of his Obra Completa, Les pedres de l’àmfora (Stones from the Amphora), which won two awards, Lletra d’Or (1974) and Crítica Serra d’Or (1975). Also remarkable are two works that describe the Valencian Lands: Llibre de meravelles (Book of Marvels) and Mural del País Valencià (Mural of the Valencian Lands). He received the Premi d’Honor de les Lletres Catalanes (1978) and the Premi de les Lletres Valencianes (1984). Various singers have set his poems to music. Outstanding among them is Ovidi Montllor in Coral romput (Broken chorus). He was a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
