Vicenç Riera Llorca (Barcelona, 1903 - Pineda de Mar, Maresme, 1991). Journalist, writer, translator and cartoonist.
Due to the Spanish Civil War he had been exiliated in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, where he was the director of the magazine Pont Blau and the editorial office's head of La Nostra Revista. He published novel, narrative and short narrative. His objective technique, half way between journalistic chronicle and literary fiction, made him been considered as the chronicler of the Catalan exile of the postwar period. His first novel, Tots tres surten per l'Ozama (1946) was published in Mexico. In the year 1969 he returned to Catalonia and he published, among others, Amb permís de l'enterramorts (1970), awarded the Prudenci Bertrana in 1970 and the Crítica Serra d'Or in 1971, Fes memòria, Bel (1972), awarded with the Sant Jordi in 1971, Això aviat farà figa (1984), or Georgette i altres contes, published in a posthumous way in 1995.
In 1985 he was honored with the Creu de Sant Jordi de la Generalitat de Catalunya, and he was a member of honor of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
