Montserrat Vilarmau

Montserrat Vilarmau (Manresa, 1949) studied Education, specialising in Child Education, later she worked as a kindergarten teacher and for the Education Department of the Generalitat (Catalan government).

As writer, she has been finalist for the Pere Calders Prize for Literature with her work Yousra (2000), and she has published the novels Mai per ordinador (2002), Vindrà la Fàtima (2005) and Mentre el país despertava (2015). Some of her short stories have been compiled in the volumes De tot cor (2012) and Tot és possible (2014).

She has also taken part in a number of symposia and activities concerned with immigration and intercultural relations, and in literary functions like the Week of Children's and Young People's Books, which is held each year in Manresa.

She is an honorary member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
