Llucieta Canyà i Martí (La Bisbal d’Empordà, 1901 - Barcelona, 1980), who studied Education and Law, was a journalist, poet, and playwright.

At a very early age she settled in Barcelona where she moved in several cultural circles. Her membership in La Lliga (women’s league) paved the way for her joining La Veu de Catalunya with a daily women’s section called “Món femení”. Conservative feminism occupied a good part of her writing for dailies and magazines, as well as being the main theme of her public lectures. In 1934 she published L’etern femení which, with a prologue by Josep Maria de Sagarra, made her name as a writer. The success of this work, with its moralising advice and guidance for women was repeated years later with the book L’etern masculí (1957), which was addressed to men.

She also wrote several plays, including L’estudiant de Girona (1936) and L’amor té cops amagats (1954) as well as other unpublished works. From the beginning of her literary career, she also wrote poetry with works like Mare (1929) and later poems that remain unpublished.
