Lluís Flaquer i Vilardebò

English

Lluís Flaquer (Mataró, 1946) is a writer and translator. In 1982 he began to work as a lecturer in Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), where he is presently an Emeritus Professor.

Throughout his career as a teacher, he has published numerous academic works in Catalan, Spanish, and English. Most of his research work and publications are related with the structure of and changes in the family in the broad sense, but with clear thematic and methodological focuses over time.

He has mainly written academic studies and essays on questions related with his research. Moreover, for a decade, he has been intensely engaged as an editor and translator of classical works of social thought, originally published in English and from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and early-twentieth centuries. He has also adapted and revised texts in Catalan.

He is a member of honour of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC).
