Manel-Claudi Santos (Palma, 1960-2008) was a poet, fiction writer, columnist and teacher.

With a degree in Spanish Philology from the Balearic Islands University, he taught Catalan Language at the Ramon Llull secondary school in Palma, Mallorca. Describing himself as a "posthumous poet", he published three collections of poems: Rapsòdia nocturna (1980, winner of the 1979 City of Palma Poetry Prize), Les cambres vora la pluja (1991) and Arquitectures d'absència. He also wrote a book of short stories titled Quadern de retorns (2004). Together with Jeroni Salom, he wrote the scripts of the documentaries Josep Maria Llompart, poeta (1992) and Llorenç Villalonga, els miralls de la ficció (1998) and, with Jaume Vidal, the script for the short Dijous Sant (1999).

He translated Antoni Serra’s work La Avenida de las sombras (2007) from Spanish into Catalan with the title Avinguda de la fosca. In the 1980s and 1990s he wrote articles of literary criticism for the cultural supplement of the daily Diario de Mallorca and also articles of film criticism for the Temps Moderns, the magazine published by the "Sa Nostra" Cultural Centre.
