Josep Maria Tortajada Estruch(Sabadell, Vallès Occidental, 1969). In 1997 he obtained a degree in Communication Sciences, after which he began to work as a secondary school teacher specialising in the social sciences. In 2009 he graduated with a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Social Science Education from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

He has written articles on history, literature and education in a range of publications.

He is the author of La Suite de Sofia (The Sofia Suite, 2009), finalist for the Pere Calders Prize for Fiction, and the young readers books Bombons i un veí estrany per no caure en un parany (2013) and Un mètode explosiu per salvar uns crancs i un riu (2015).

He is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
