Sergi Durbà

Sergi Durbà Cardo (Sagunt, 1979), who has a degree in Catalan Philology, is a secondary school and A-levels teacher, an experience he drew on for his first novel Camins al sud (2012). He then published two essays, Costumari de records (2015) and Colp a colp, glosses sobre pilota valenciana (2019) and co-authored the comic Paco Cabanes "el Genovés", l’heroi esportiu dels valencians (2016), and the booklet Les nostres festes (2020). More recently, he was awarded the Vila de Catarroja Benvingut Oliver Fiction Prize for his novel Amanda (2021) and the Vila d’Almassora Literature Prize for the diary El cant de les granotes (2022).

He was written for periodical publications including Las Provincias and Pilotaviu as well as publishing the blog Costumari Durbà, in which he writes about Valencian culture and traditions.

He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
