Laura Jaime i Femenia

Laura Jaime i Femenia (Barcelona) has a postgraduate degree in Local Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has also studied Catalan Philology at the University of Barcelona, and painting at the La Llotja School in Barcelona.

In 1985 she began to work in the Directorate-General for Language Policy, where she is in charge of coordinating Catalan courses, the Volunteers for the Language programme, and producing material designed for language-learning pairs, namely the collection “Contes per parlar” (Stories for Speaking). She has also translated children’s and young people’s books, and art books.

She has been awarded several literary prizes and has been on the editorial board of various publications, among them the newspaper Diari de Vilanova. Moreover, she has been a jury member for a number of literary prizes, including the Port Authority of Barcelona Award, and the Sant Jordi literary awards organised by the Julià Cutiller Library in Llagostera.
