Renada-Laura Portet (Sant Pau de Fenollet, la Fenolleda, 1927) is a poet and fiction writer from Roussillon and a specialist in Catalan onomastics. She has explored almost all the fields of literature and has published three collections of poetry, Jocs de convit (Party Games, 1990), Una ombra anomenada oblit (A Shadow Named Oblivion, 1992) and El cant de la Sibil·la (Sybil Song, 1994), as well as a great number of prose works, for example Castell negre (Black Castle), winner of the 1981 Víctor Català Prize, L'escletxa (The Cleft), a finalist for the 1983 Sant Jordi (Saint George) Prize, Rigau & Rigaud, a finalist for the 2002 Josep Pla Prize and the short story collection Una dona t'escriu (A Woman Is Writing to You), winner of the 2004 Ramon Juncosa Prize.

In the fields of her specialities of toponomy and onomastics she has written Els noms de lloc del Rosselló (Roussillon Place Names), winner of the 1981 Vila de Perpinyà Prize, and Toponímia rossellonesa (Roussillonese Toponomy, 1983).

Renada-Laura Portet is one of the major literary voices of North Catalonia and, apart from the many literary prizes she has received, she has also been awarded such important honorific distinctions as being named Officier de l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques of France (1988), and the Creu de Sant Jordi (Saint George Cross) of the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia, in 2004.

Portet was an honorary member of Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC, Association of Catalan Language Writers).
