Jaume Copons

English

Jaume Copons (Sant Andreu de Palomar, 1966) is a writer. After studying Catalan Philology, he worked for years as a secondary school teacher while also writing his first novels. However, with the coming of the twenty-first century, he decided to write full-time and his experience as a Barri Sèsam scriptwriter was determinant in his decision to write almost exclusively, for children. He has published novels, stories, albums, comics, graphic novels, as well as writing for television and radio.

He has written an extensive range of literary works, an endeavour he combines with a great number of visits to bookshops, libraries, and schools in order to have direct contact with his readers. His books have been translated into many languages including Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Basque, Korean, Polish, Slovenian, and Lithuanian among others.

He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC).
