Montserrat Costas (Capellades, Anoia, 1976) is a poet.

With a degree in Journalism, she lives in Barcelona and has been working as an editor with Ara Llibres since 2003. Her work is notable for its concise, sober style, humorous tone, irony and its predilection for contemporary themes.

She has published the books L'amplitud dels angles (The Amplitude of Angles, 2003), Híbrid (Hybrid 1999 – co-authored with Jordi Condal) and Poesia egocèntrica (Egocentric Poetry, 1997). Her poems have appeared in a range of anthologies of contemporary Catalan poetry. Some of her work has been translated into Norwegian.

She has recited her work throughout the Catalan-speaking territories: in Barcelona (in the Brossa Espai Escènic theatre, Horiginal poetry-restaurant and elsewhere), Tarragona, Palma, Búger, Badalona, Vilafranca del Penedès, with QuarkPoesia at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Còdols Festival of Cerdanyola del Vallès, in València (Centre de Cultura Contemporània Octubre), and in the Paper de Música Hall in Capellades. Outside of Catalonia, she has also recited at the Lillehammer Norsk Litteraturfestival (Norwegian Literature Festival in Lillehammer) and in Oslo.

Since 2010 she has been reviewing poetry books for the review Caràcters and is a jury member for the Joan Perucho - Vila d'Ascó Poetry Prize.

She has been awarded the Vila de Martorell Poetry Prize (1999) and the Divendres Culturals Prize of Cerdanyola del Vallès (1996).

She is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
