Pontus Sánchez (Nacka, Sweden, 1984) has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Barcelona and is a native translator from Swedish to Spanish and Catalan.

In 1992, after spending his entire childhood in Sweden, he moved to Barcelona, ​​where he continued studying his mother tongue at the Scandinavian Club, now renamed Nordic Institute, until he passed the C-level exam.

In 2007, he signed his first literary translation, and after twenty years of professional career, he has published up to eighty books. Swedish authors Camilla Läckberg (El mentalista, Columna, 2022), Anders de la Motte (L’assassí de la muntanya, Columna, 2024 i L’home de vidre, Columna, 2025) or David Lagercrantz (Obscuritas, Columna, 2022) can be found among his translations.

He has worked for multiple publishers and in several literary genres, including children’s literature, crime and contemporary novels, nonfiction, and essays.

Since 2013, he has also specialized in the translation and copywriting of sexual education content.

He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC).
