Albert Masó Garcia

Albert Masó Garcia (Sabadell, 1976), a technical engineer in industrial electronics, mountaineer, writer, illustrator, mapmaker, and author of mountain audiovisuals, has also written books about mountains and more than a hundred articles published in several bulletins of hiking clubs and mountaineering magazines. Moreover, he has produced many maps to illustrate his descriptions of mountain routes, climbing itineraries, audiovisuals, and the lectures he has given on mountains.

He began hiking and climbing at an early age, especially in the area of the massif of Sant Llorenç del Munt and L’Obac Range. He and his brother, Òscar Masó, are a rope team and have opened up more than 400 classic routes as well as scaling all the monoliths of Sant Llorenç del Munt, L’Obac Range, Sant Salvador de les Espases, and also more than 600 on Montserrat.

He belongs to several hikers’ clubs in Vallès Occidental, and those of the Barcelona College of Graduate and Technical Industrial Engineers, and of the Cavall Bernat Group. He has been awarded several literary prizes and others for his mountain films.

He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
