English

Òscar Masó Garcia (Sabadell, 1974) is a mechanical technical engineer, mountaineer, and writer. From an early age he and his brother went on family excursions which were to become the basis of an activity that they have worked to popularise as adults. He combines his work as an engineer with mountain excursions and, besides giving interviews, writes about them in books, guides, articles, and studies that are published in bulletins of hiking clubs, newspapers, and hiking magazines including Muntanya, Vallesos, Mai Enrera, Desnivel, Excursionisme, et cetera. He has also co-produced award-winning audiovisuals about mountaineering. Much of his work is jointly authored with his brother Albert.

He has also been co-author of, or contributor to several rock climbing and hiking guides, as well as presenting his studies and research work at a number of Study Sessions on the Sant Llorenç del Munt massif and L’Obac Range, and also at seminars on Hiking Literature of the Barcelona branch of the Hiking Union of Catalonia (UEC).

He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
