Anna Tortajada

Anna Tortajada (Sabadell, Vallès Occidental, 1957) went to Germany at the age of twenty and lived there for four years while studying Hispanic Philology.

She worked for many years with several publishing houses as a translator of technical texts and literature from German to Catalan and Spanish before starting to write and publish her own books, some of which have been translated into several languages, including Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish and Portuguese. She works with different branches of the media and as an editor for several enterprises.

Since 2000 and during the school year she has also been working with an initiative, in which readings of her works are offered in primary and high schools, adult education centres and colleges in Catalonia and Andorra.

She also gives reading and writing workshops in libraries and civic and educational centres.

She is a member of Autors en Perill d'Extinció (APE – Authors in Danger of Extinction).
