Roser Burgués

Roser Burgués (Castelldefels, Baix Llobregat, 1955) works in the fields of psychopedagogy, language therapy and as a writer. In her professional work she has been employed in the domains of education and public health.

Her first novel, Claire Pourpière, which was published as La Indiana (2015), is the fictional biography of an independent woman, born at the end of the nineteenth century, who travels alone to Cuba trying to achieve a better future for her family. This novel, where fiction and reality mingle, covers the main historical events of the end of the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries.

This book was a finalist for the Josep Pla, Ramon Llull and Gregal prizes.

She has also published two titles for beginner readers as well as creating a television cartoon series called Les Magilletres, which was broadcast in the 1990s in Catalonia, Finland, Japan, Andorra, and other countries.

Roser Burgués is a member of Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC).
