Víctor Gayà (Palma, 1952) is a writer and psychologist. With a degree from the University of Barcelona, he works as a psychologist in an educational centre of Palma and as a private consultant. He produces radio programmes, works with a number of periodical publications as a columnist and literary critic, and runs writing workshops.
He publishes in the genres of prose fiction, essay and poetry. Notable among these works are the collections of poems Com la sequera (2005), Rèquiem (2018), Retorn a l’obert (winner of the 2019 Pare Colom Prize) and Thálamos (2021); the essay La llum entre les dernes (2016), and the novels Trenc d’alba (winner of the 1999 Roc Boronat Prize), Víctor Fox (2002), Cercle enigmàtic (winner of the 2005 Alexandre Ballester Prize), La vida perdurable de Salvador Duran (winner of the 2006 Mollerussa Prize), and Cabres (2023).
He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
