Helena Alvarado i Esteve (Barcelona, 1948 - Sant Antoni de Portmany, 2023). Poet, essayist, and translator, who has worked as a teacher, researcher, poet, and poetry translator. She publishes under the pseudonym of Nora Albert, in a tribute to Henrik Ibsen’s The Dolls House and to Caterina Albert (Víctor Català).

She has received many awards for her extensive body of work, for example, Mots i brases (2004, Lambda Prize), Tentacles de cel (2008, Baladre Prize), Punta Galera (2013, Vall de Sóller Prize), Fràgils naufragis (2015, Vila de Benissa Prize), and Lletra menuda (2015, Ciutat d’Eivissa Marià Villangómez Prize).

In 2022 she received the Rafel Jaume Prize (in the Cavall Verd awards) for Best Poetry Translation with her translation of Vuoto d’amore (Buidor d’amor) by Alda Merini and, moreover, the Jordi Domènech Prize for Translation for her Catalan version of Notti di pace occidentale (Nits de pau occidental) by Antonella Anedda.

She was an honorary member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC).
