Quim Daví

Quim Daví, pseudonym of Joaquim Canals i Daví (Barcelona, 1943) writes poetry, fiction and plays.

Among his published books are the volumes of poetry La gravetat (Gravity, 1988), Naturalesa dels dies (Nature of Days – winner of the Marià Manent Prize for 2000) and the fictional work Periples (Journeys).

Daví has also worked in the world of theatre, especially as an actor with the Agrupació Dramàtica Barcelona (Barcelona Dramatic Group) between 1959 and 1962, and he has had several exhibitions of poetry and visual images in art centres such as Metrònom and the Ateneu Barcelonès (Barcelona Athenaeum).

In the realm of education, he has worked as a Catalan language teacher and as an adviser to the Servei d'Ensenyament del Català (Catalan Teaching Services).

Daví is an honorary member of Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
