David Paloma Sanllehí (Terrassa, 1969), a writer, translator, and teacher, has a PhD in Catalan Philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona where he now teaches in the Faculty of Communication Studies. He has published several works in the field of language sciences, and also writes stories for the magazine Cavall Fort, as well as academic articles for such publications as Serra d’Or, Llengua Nacional, and El Punt Avui.

In the domain of fiction, he is author of several books for children and young people, among them Quines vacances més llargues, Ulisses! (1995), Una medicina per no plorar (Edebé, 1996 – and translated into several languages), Un quilo de manies (2002), and Petons de formatge (2005). He has also published the poetry collections Deu postals d’Itàlia i altres poems (Columna, 1990, winner of the Joan Casellas award for poetry for young people), Sobre una poesia rosa (Columna, 1991, coauthored by Maria Rosa Vila), and Amb tot el blau del mar (Columna, 1993). He also translates from French to Catalan.

He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan language Writers – AELC).
